Energizing Breaths for Gray Days — Pranayama Techniques

Ejercicio de respiración consciente para recuperar energía en días grises — Quiroesencia Granada

There are days when we don't know why, but everything feels slower. The sky seems heavier, our body craves bed all day, and our mind wanders, unwilling to focus on anything specific. Energizing pranayama breathing exercises can be a valuable tool for those moments.

What is pranayama?

Pranayama is the set of breath control techniques in yoga. Unlike automatic breathing, pranayama is conscious and directed. Some techniques promote calmness, while others promote activation—choosing the right one for the moment is key.

Main energizing techniques

Kapalabhati—breath of fire—consists of short, powerful exhalations using the abdomen. It can contribute to a greater sense of activation and mental clarity within minutes. Bhastrika—bellows breath—is similar but with equally powerful inhalations and exhalations. Both should be practiced on an empty stomach and with the guidance of a professional if you have no prior experience.
